This page contains details of concerts, workshops and other related events which may be of interest to DCS members and supporters.
Run by Singers has been arranging singing weeks and weekends since 2004. We go to places that we know and love to sing music that we love. We enjoy spending time with other singers that share our passion.
Most events are abroad but there are always one or two in the UK. All singing holidays conclude with a concert in a prestigious location.
Groups are large enough to cope with a major work – typically 50 to 55 singers – but they are small enough to make everybody's contribution count. Most events are for experienced choral singers but the atmosphere is friendly and relaxed. Our musical directors are respected musicians like Nigel Perrin, David Allinson and Jeremy Jackman -who have many years' experience of getting the best from choirs.
If singing a programme of sacred music in the splendid Basilica of St Francis in Assisi appeals to you, the Mozart Requiem in Salzburg – or even Arvo Part in Estonia, please join our mailing list to receive advance booking information for ALL our singing events.

25 August to 1 September 2012
Chamber Choir Week, at La Maison Verte, Languedoc
Dear Singer,
We’d like to invite you to participate in a week’s singing at La Maison Verte in Southern France from 25 August to 1 September 2012. This is a week for people who want to sing... a lot! The repertoire will be taken from 600 years of great choral music, from the early Renaissance to the present day, and will be tutored by Joel Thomas and Francis Steele (owner of La Maison Verte and formerly the bass sound of The Tallis Scholars and The Sixteen).
The week is designed for people already singing in choirs to get together for a fantastic holiday with others who have the same interest. Although the week is primarily about singing, we place emphasis on the holiday element of things; good food, good wine, getting out and about, and above all, having fun.
You couldn’t work with more sympathetic and talented tutors than Joel and Francis, who are both skilled at encouraging people to achieve more as singers than they ever thought they could.
Don’t just take our word for it; this is what some of the participants in the 2011 course said:
“This is a beautiful place, and has been a great experience. Thank you for your inspiration and help.”
“Great music, great musicians, great patience, great organisation, GREAT WEEK”.
If this interests you, why not have a look at the attached leaflet, and contact us if you would like to come, or if you have any questions you would like answered before you book.
Hope to see you in 2012 at La Maison Verte.
Kind regards
La Maison Verte
